It's OK to Think, Really

It's not offensive to find thinking people (for me at least) who disagree with my views. I encourage thinking people to continue earnestly doing so.

Many of the greatest Christian thinkers have historically, come from those who were out to disprove its truth.

As a matter of fact, the majority of the New Testament was written by one such person.

I think it's good to subjectively consider the evidence and to question what that evidence points towards. That is, as long as one's questioning isn't done with some presupposed answer or agenda, to which the evidence is then made to fit, which is sadly often the case no matter which side of the issue most people find themselves on.

How do we expect to find the truth if we merely set out to prove or own views on truth instead of honestly and earnestly seeking the truth?

It seems to me, anyone who walks around touting that they have the truth (whatever that truth may be) should at least try to have some well reasoned answers if it is questioned.

The best way to find answers is to ask questions, and so if one is to be prepared to question truth as they understand it, then one should also be prepared to accept it as they find it too.

The truth might not be at all what you were told, or what you thought.
It sure wasn't for me.

And that, by the way, this goes both ways, to believers and non. How do you ever expect to find out the validity or invalidity of what you believe if you're afraid to question it.

Your insecurities about honestly facing yourself by facing truth, will undo you and trip you up, there's really just no need for it.

The truth is the truth, it remains regardless, and it does not need acknowledgment or acceptance from anyone to remain so.

What we find will not contradict God, it will only point to him.
What we find however may just contradict what we think about God.
That should challenge us to consider changing those views, and to then understand the facts within the context of the truth.
